Finish/Start.

It's the end of the month, year, and decade. It will be the beginning of a new month, year, and decade. 2009 was crazy. It was corpse-ridden. It was just...hell you can't use one word to describe 2009. But we're entering 2010 now. And a lot is going to happen. I'm going to college, for one. So it's also going to be a time of change. Well I don't feel like saying anything more, so see you in 2010.

The RE:Union.

The new mixtape by Talib Kweli and Hi-Tek, collectively known as Reflection Eternal. The album is dropping I believe February 2010 [I know what I'm getting with my birthday money]. It was supposed to drop tomorrow, but it's dropped. So let this be one of the last hip-hop mixtapes you listen to in 2009, and you'll be happy. Here's your download.

Where to Go.

GQ article on where you can get some clothes. If you want to go for that "successful/grown man" look. The stuff is apparently rarely found in America, but rather carried overseas in continents like Europe and Asia. So, if you think it'll interest you because you like to dress like that, or want to go to one of these stores to find something that nobody else has, then take a look.

Happy Birthday Jesus.

Today is Christmas, and that's the Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center in Manhattan. I'll take this opportunity to say this: Christmas may be about gifts to some people, but no matter whether you got everything you wanted, or nothing, just remember that you have the greatest gift of all right now, life. You were able to wake up and appreciate this day. Merry Christmas people.

Til the Casket Drops.

I got this album on Saturday the 19th from the Best Buy in the Palisades, and it's a great album. The album isn't entirely produced by the Neptunes, so you have a bunch of hot beats from not only them, but also DJ Khalil & Chin, and Sean C & LV. It's just a good buy. Go and support.

Yo...let it speak for it self...

Vacation.

Christmas break started since Friday the 18th, and I've been bored since then. I have things to do but I'm putting them off, i.e. cleaning my room, doing homework [which doesn't really make this a vacation, but whatever], and fixing my music [adding, deleting, etc.]. I touched on the idea of being a slacker in an earlier post, but even now the lesson hasn't sunk in with me. It's funny how I work best under pressure though, so maybe doing my crap last minute will lead to a super clean room, high grades on my assignments, and a great music library...who knows?

Wanted VIII.

Air Jordan Retro XII [12]. 1st time retro in this white/red colorway. I saw them in person at Foot Locker in the Palisades, and I was in love with them [lol]. Plus they're actually leather, and not the nubuck that the other retros have been made with. So they're $150, and I hope I can get them after Christmas. But hey, the NikeStore has them...

Brittany Murphy, actress, died yesterday at 32, due to "apparently natural causes" at 32. Complex.com has some of her work. It's always sad to see a nice face go so young...

Exhibit C.

And to continue on the music path, here's Exhibit C by Jay Electronica. This is one of those songs that people wait on and wait on, and when you finally get it, you're not disappointed, but it's actually better than you wanted it to be. Most of the download links have been taken down, but the people who want it and aren't bums, go get it off of iTunes.

Chris Henry, #15 for the Bengals, fell out of a truck yesterday and died of his injuries. He was 26 and was turning his life around after a bunch of arrests and suspensions. Smh...2 more weeks until this is all over. 2010 needs to be less of a graveyard.

Wanted VII.

A Comme des Garçons wallet. Nowadays, everyone has a Gucci or Louis Vuitton wallet. Not to knock them, since I do like the Louis Vuitton ones a lot, but knowing me, I'd want to get something that few others have. I don't think anyone that I know even knows what Comme des Garçons is anyway. Anyway, by college, I want to have one of these in my possession. And the price is...$179.85.

Current.

While I was listening to Nas - 2nd Childhood, it hit me. This is the last year of the decade. As soon as we hit 2010, it's a new decade. New year + new decade = new start. Everyone and their mother says they're going to star anew for the new year. But few actually hold themselves to keeping whatever promises they said they were going to do. Example: when 2009 started, I decided that I would buy about...5 pairs of sneakers. Yet I can't save money for my life and therefore I only got a pair of Asics and a pair of boat shoes. It's whatever though. As of right now, my newness means that I need to change who I talk to, who I pay attention to, and who I let exist in my mind. I'm taking school way more seriously, but as for my social life, I keep falling into old ways that are unproductive for myself and for others that actually care about me. Therefore, change is a must. I also need to learn to become a better manager: of money, of time, and of resources. Yeah, that's pretty good.

Wanted VI.

The Polo Ralph Lauren Tavin Shearling Boots. Remember the Ranger Shearling boots? Well I'm sure someone got them by now. And since I've seen everybody and their mother wearing the Ranger boots [most of them in horrible ways], I started looking at other Polo boots, including this one. So I think I'd get something along these lines. They're $159.

Realizations.

I was sitting in my room last night, trying to go to sleep, when I realized something about myself: I hang out with people I don't even like. Sure, I do hang out with a lot of people that I actually consider friends, but others like to talk so much trash about me, and I just decide to let it go instead of getting to that issue and getting rid of it. Therefore I've come to a decision. From Monday on, anybody I don't like is getting ignored. If they don't get the hint from there, I'm straight up telling them to the face, "I don't like you. I don't care what happens to you after I'm done speaking to you. Have a nice life." Anyone at my school who reads this, please make sure I hold myself up to this, because it is something I must do.

Sick [Literally].

I've been out of my proper mindset since Monday night, when I got hit with [what I think is] a stomach virus. The culprit? Something dealing with the school lunch I bought. Anyway, I've been hurting since then, and it's really not cool to deal with. But enough of me feeling sorry for myself. I'm almost done with the college stuff. I just need to fix a few early actions to regular decisions, and send out letters of recommendation and transcripts. I hope to get accepted into a college that I really wanted from the beginning, because college is a stepping stone in life, and I need to have a good experience [aye...]. But again, whatever happens, happens.

Fat Raps.

The new mixtape by Chip tha Ripper that dropped today. When I got on the internet, I made sure to get this. When I was finished with the tape, I decided that pretty much every song is repeat-worthy. Heard of him through Kid Cudi, but he doesn't do the R&B/rap space-themed songs. His is straight up hip-hop. Listen for yourself.
